Reversing documents

In Aico, you can set an automatic reversal when the original journal is created or reverse the journal manually.
However, the original journal must be posted before it can be manually reversed.
Automatic reversals
This is when you create a journal with a reversal.
In the Header Data area, scroll down to the Reversal Details section and set the Reversal Date. By clicking in the box, you will activate a calendar date-picker.
Aico will automatically create a link to the reversal document, which can be seen in the Linked Documents panel in the top right of the screen. Once posted, the Reversed flag will be set to Yes and the Reversal Document Number will be updated.
Manual reversals
If you want to reverse a journal that has now been posted:
1. Go into the document you need to reverse.
2. Click the Reverse button in the Workflow Actions across the top of the document.
Aico will open a new reversal document, which is a copy of the journal needing a reversal.
Complete the required information. This information will vary across different companies but might include the document date and posting date (1).
When you have completed the information, press Transfer and complete. (2)
The original document will now be reversed, and they will be automatically linked together.
