In Aico, you can generate tasks for a given period. Managing your period tasks in Aico, you will be able to:

  • Create a new period
  • Open and close a period
  • Generate tasks for a period
  • Regenerate tasks for a period

This article will show you how.

Opening and generating the period tasks

Regenerating periods

Opening and generating the period tasks

First, you need to select or create the new period for which you want to generate or regenerate the tasks. Go to:

1. Admin tools

2. Periods

From here, either:

3. Select the period for which you want to generate the tasks for

Or

4. Create a new period

You can open the period and then generate the tasks or vice versa but tasks will not start to run until the period is open.

Note: When tasks are generated, they will use the master data from the task templates at that specific moment in time. Changing the master data after the tasks are generated will NOT change the generated tasks. But it will affect future period tasks.

5. Where the period is already generated, you will be presented with summary information about the current running status of all tasks for that specific period.

Using filters

It is possible to generate only certain tasks based on the available filters.

Filtering can be based on Processes, companies, task types, such as SAP reconciliation or manual workflow, and individual tasks. These can be used in any combination.

Note: Leaving these fields empty will prompt Aico to select all.

Warning! If dependencies (predecessors/successors) are set on tasks, you must generate these tasks at the same time for Aico to correctly link them as a predecessor or successor.

Regenerating periods

After the tasks have been generated for the period for the first time then the Regenerate button appears at the bottom of the page.

Press Regenerate and Aico will generate any new tasks that have been added or activated since the period tasks were first generated.

Now read the next article to find out how to resolve task issues.
