Manage administrative user rights
Modified on Wed, 3 May, 2023 at 3:03 PM
There are two types of system administrators in Aico:
- Global system administrators have unlimited rights to all systems and administrative areas.
- System administrators manage the content in a single Aico system and can also be restricted in what administrative tasks they can perform.
This article covers how to:
Remove system administrator rights
Manage visibility of tabs for system administrators
Promote a system administrator to a global system administrator
Remove global system administrator rights
Add system administrator rights
To be able to add or remove system administrators, the user must be a global admin.
1. Go to system manager - Systems tab
2. Select the Aico system and click on it
3. A list of admins will be loaded on the right side of the page
To add a new system administrator, click on the user selection box in the list below (1). You will be presented with a list of all system users. You can search for specific users by typing in the filter. Click on the name you want (2).
Choose the user you want to add as a system administrator and click out of this dialogue box. A new Add button will become visible next to this input. After pressing it (1), this user will be added to the list of system administrators.
Remove system administrator rights
To remove a user as a system manager, on the same page as the list of users, click the red cross button. This will remove the user from the system administrator list.
Manage visibility of tabs for system administrators
To manage the visibility of tabs and to assign administrative user rights in the Aico web client, follow the steps below:
1. On the Users tab, select a user who is set up as a system administrator.
2. Click the user account in the left panel. The user account opens for editing.
To set the rights to access certain System Manager tabs and perform certain administrative actions in Aico web client, select and/or clear the checkboxes. For example, you can define if the selected system administrator can access the Users tab which would allow them to create and edit Users and User groups.
Super user mode and shared dashboard editing are rights that an Administrator can be given in the Aico web client.
4. Click Save.
See our Super User mode and Dashboardarticles for more information.
