How to create a journal from an excel report

Aico closing tasks are able to import and attach files as part of a closing task and this feature is described in this article on how to attach a file from a file share.

If the file attached to a closing task is in Excel (.xlsx) format or a CSV (.csv) file, which Aico automatically converts to .xlsx, an import template can be used to manipulate the data in the file and generate a journal. This feature streamlines journal creation during the financial close process.

Your Aico Delivery team will have provided two templates: one for a proposed journal and another for an automatic journal. Depending on your project requirements, you may have one or both of these templates.

Attach the Excel Import template File:

The process is identical to the steps in the Set up an SAP program with proposed journal article where you build an Excel import template to manipulate the report data and then attach it to the closing task.

Note: When using an Excel report retrieved from a file server, the data from the file will appear on a tab named "File Data" within the task. This is distinct from SAP data.
