Copying and personalising a new dashboard
Modified on Fri, 18 Nov, 2022 at 10:31 AM
There are two main types of dashboards in Aico - shared and personal.
A shared dashboard is created and maintained by administrators. You can tell if a dashboard is shared because it will have the standard shared icon at the right of the tab.
It is unlikely you will be able to edit a shared dashboard, as any changes to it will affect all Aico users in your company.
However, you will be allowed to copy any dashboard and personalise that copy.
This article will show you some of the basic actions you can take to personalise your new dashboard.
- How to copy a dashboard
- Rename your dashboard
- Adding a Date range quick filter
- Adding additional quick filters
- Deleting your dashboard
How to copy a dashboard
Copying a dashboard is straightforward in Aico.
1. Click on the dashboard you wish to copy. It will turn orange once selected.
2. Click on the Copy dashboard button in the top left of the dashboard.
This creates a new dashboard that is unique to you (3).
A cog wheel will appear (4). This is where you can personalise your new dashboard and decide which fields you want to appear in it.
Click on the cog wheel to access the settings of your Aico dashboard.
Here you can rename your dashboard, assign it to a category and a number of other actions. We will look at some of these fields in this article. For a more detailed look at personalising your dashboard, you can visit this area.
To return to the front-end view of your new dashboard, click the cog wheel button again.
Rename your dashboard
Click in the box to the right of Dashboard name to give your new dashboard a meaningful title.
Adding a Date range quick filter
If the Date range quick filter is off, No will be highlighted in orange (1). Quick filters appear on the right-hand side of the screen in both the back end and front end of all Aico dashboards (2).
You can see in the example below that the Date range quick filter is not visible.
Here, the Date range quick filter is On, and you can see a corresponding box has appeared at the far right of the screen. This will now appear on your dashboard.
Adding additional quick filters
You can add any other quick filters you want by clicking on an empty space in the Quick filters box (1). Either start typing or scrolling down the list of available header fields which can be used as Quick filters (2).
Deleting your dashboard
If you want to delete your new dashboard, you can do so by clicking on the cog wheel to enter the back end area and pressing the delete button.
There are many more things you can do to personalise your own dashboard. If you want to learn how to create more complex dashboards, click here to visit the Dashboards area.
